SAIC is seeking a skilled Technical Writer to support the AF TENCAP HOPE 2.0 contract. The AF TENCAP HOPE 2.0 contract bridges intelligence community collection architectures, capabilities, and technologies with DoD operational and tactical requirements. This effort will deliver rapid, innovative, and cost-effective capabilities to meet warfighter needs, and will include bringing national capabilities to bear across all warfighting domains spanning intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, combat applications, battlespace awareness, command and control, multi-level security and mission programs. This next generation approach shall employ the latest advancements in geolocation and tagging, sensor and data fusion, unconventional / asymmetric warfare, situational awareness, cyberspace and spectrum warfare, large data analytics, data lake, jamming technologies, sensor technologies, geo-registration to deliver a cutting-edge approach.
The Technical Writer for AF TENCAP is essential to the success of the HOPE 2.0 initiative, focusing on helping ensure a project is well-documented, understood by all relevant parties, compliant with necessary standards, and ultimately successful. The crucial work mitigates risks, enhances user satisfaction, and contributes to overall quality and efficacy, thereby enhancing the Air Force's multi-domain situational awareness and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Format and edit documents, including technical and training manuals, and SOPs for prototypes, ensuring clarity, consistency, and high-quality presentation within the standards.
+ Maintain strict grammar and punctuation standards in all documents, including lab SOPs and test reports, with input from SMEs and engineers.
+ Ensure uniform bullet point formatting with consistent punctuation across all documentation.
+ Collaborate with senior team members to review and refine their work to meet high-quality standards.
+ Execute tasks independently with minimal supervision, showing initiative in managing document-related projects.
+ Maintain high personal standards for deliverables, consistently producing professional and polished documents.
+ Assist with various tasks as needed, including attending local meetings and training sessions to support team workload and project needs.
**Qualifications**
+ Bachelor's degree in English, Business or Information Systems and five (5) years of technical writing experience. Additional years of experience in lieu of degree may be accepted.
+ Must be skilled with document formatting and editing tools (e.g., Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Adobe Acrobat).
+ Bootcamp or Certification in Technical Writing.
+ Experienced with documentation repositories such as Smartsheets, GitHub, and Wikis.
+ Must have active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
**DESIRED EXPERIENCE:**
+ Exceptional attention to detail, especially regarding grammar and punctuation with the ability to express complicated topics in a simplified manner.
+ Ability to work independently and take initiative on projects.
+ Strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Experience working with senior executives and editing their documents to improve clarity and professionalism.
Target salary range: $80,001 - $120,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
