We’re seeking an enthusiastic, safety-driven, cost-conscious individual to join our team as the Powder Coat & Assembly Manager at our Charlotte, North Carolina office (2745 Whitehall Park Dr. Suite 500, Charlotte, NC 28273). This position is an exempt, salaried position ineligible for remote work - Monday-Friday, minimum of 40 hours per week.

Job Requirements:

• Supervise and mentor 7-11 team members in a manner that fosters a safe work environment (ie, enforcing PPE) and self-directed team approach. 
  

• Meets production goals off a production schedule - a minimum of 40+ lockers fully assembled and packaged per week with zero manufacturing defects. 
  

• ERP Activities - Inventory - Fully Responsible for 95%+ inventory accuracy for all LPCE parts the Thursday before month end each month. This requires hand counting fabricated parts, labeling and potentially recounts if needed. This may require going in early or staying late to do.
  

• ERP Activities - Complete manufacturing orders, transfer WIP to finished product into various locations (IE from LPCE> SEKO CLT) after lockers are assembled, know all fabricated part names 
  

• ERP Activities - Ordering - Order fabricated parts as necessary (including the proper lead time) from 3-10 different vendors. QC received parts and reject parts that are outside our spec tolerances or not to standard.
  

• Maintain high quality standards - attention to detail, QA/QC - continuously audit powder coating thickness coverage/coverage/match, assembly procedures, lock mechanisms and packaging. 
  

• Champions best practices; discovers training needs and provides coaching; recognizes high performance and praises accomplishments
  

• Collaborates with leadership to articulate and communicate company vision and strategy
  

• Maintain high quality standards - attention to detail, QA/QC - continuously audit powder coating thickness coverage, assembly procedures, lock mechanisms and packaging. 
  

• Cleanliness is important to you - ensure the powder coat gun, booth and shop is thoroughly clean at all times. Ensure shelves are organized, parts are labeled and preventative maintenance is done. Ensure the warehouse facility is also clean, organized and 5S. 
  

• Place orders for fabricated metal parts 6-10 weeks in advance of anticipated build date - you should be an expert at PO/ordering and receiving procedures. QC received parts and reject parts that are outside our spec tolerances. 
  

• You are the ultimate ringleader - ensure the team is pulling enough parts, cleaning, hanging and continuously feeding the powder coat oven. Like a well oiled machine, full carts of powder coated parts should flow to the assembly side of the building and empty carts should quickly return to the raw material side of the building. You drive the performance of the shop. 
  

• Continuous improvement - set goals/key performance indicators (KPIs) for all positions and continuously encourage the team to improve their production numbers- ie, locker frames build per day, entire lockers build per day, etc. 
  

• Lead weekly one-to-ones and weekly staff meetings with a scorecard (L10) - following the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS). 
  

• Interact professionally with external vendors.
  

• Adhere to and enforce all company policies and procedures.
  

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Experienced Manager, preferably in a manufacturing, warehouse, assembly or automotive environment
  

• Prefer an experienced operator of electrostatic powder coat spray gun and high degree oven 
  

• Salary DOE but increased compensation will be provided for someone with Lean Six Sigma certification
  

• Must have the ability to teach, facilitate meetings, provide constructive feedback and listen actively. 
  

• Must be able to identify, analyze and resolve problems in multi-functional settings.
  

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to coach and lead a diverse team.
  

• Ability to read technical documents (solidworks/CAD drawings).
  

• Computer and high ERP competency.
  

• Ability to squat, bend, lift, push and kneel. 
  

• Ability to lift up to 50lbs, and stand for long periods of time
  

PPE required at all times, including steel-toed boots and a respirator. Be sure to check filters weekly and replace as needed.
