**Job Title: General Production Worker**
**Job Description**
The General Production Worker is responsible for setting up and operating machines, collecting product samples using a forklift, turning valves, and starting pumps to move products to storage, shipping, processing, or packaging. This role also involves making labels, filling drums with materials to the correct weight or measure, closing containers, placing labels, stacking, and transporting them to storage areas, and observing machines to ensure quality. The position requires lifting up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
**Responsibilities**
+ Set up and operate machines for production.
+ Collect product samples using a forklift.
+ Turn valves and start pumps to move products as needed.
+ Make and apply labels to products.
+ Fill drums with materials to the proper weight.
+ Close containers and prepare them for storage.
+ Observe machinery to ensure quality standards are met.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience in production and general production processes.
+ Machine operation skills.
+ Forklift operation certification or experience.
+ Knowledge of food manufacturing and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ At least 1 year of food manufacturing experience preferred.
+ Open to candidates with strong work history in other fields.
+ Ability to work in a physical environment and handle downtime with patience.

**Work Environment**
The work environment is a food manufacturing facility requiring compliance with GMP procedures, including wearing hair nets and beard nets. Plant #1 at the Calhoun Facility operates on a 1st shift from 5 am - 3 pm or 6 am - 4 pm, Monday through Thursday, with overtime on Fridays. Plant #3 at the Ryerson Facility offers a 1st shift from 4:45 am-12:45 pm and a 2nd shift from 12:30 pm-8:30 pm, with potential overtime extending shifts by 30 minutes to 2 hours based on production needs. Plant #1 is more physically demanding, while Plant #3 is more automated, requiring patience during downtime.

The pay range for this position is $38500.80 - $44740.80/yr.
